Help BSA C15 1964
« on: September 28, 2007, 05:14:34 AM »
 Hi all,
I have just got a 1964 Ridgid Frame C15. Had one years ago but need some help. just fitted a new loom but have got puzzled by the 3 leads from the alternator.
The loom diagram does not show which colours go to the 3 loom wires from the alternator ?????
Loom wires are: White/Green     Green/Black  & Green/Yellow
Wires from the Alternator are: White, Green, Yellow
I have connected them as they were with the old loom, but get no charge on the Ammeter when running with the lights on.   Everything else is OK. all good.

any help much apreciated.

Gregg

White-Green-Yellow alternator colours seem a bit odd?

See if you can work out the connections from this info:

Hi,
Well, a very good reply, thanks.
Took off the primary chaincase cover to see which wires went where, obviously been rewired with a standard 3 core cable at some point in time. But with the help of the picture on the C15 web site was able to trace the correct settings, had 2 in the wrong place.
All now OK, even went for a ride. Bit cold today though must be getting old !!!!!
many thanks
