Bike accessory

I picked this up recently and think it may have been made for motorcycle, it appears to be a one off/home made but is really well put together. The two units would have originally been wired together so that the switches could activate the bulb for left, right or the stop light.

Does anyone know of anything similar or if it was from plans in a bike book/magazine etc.
