Engine serial letters
« on: October 28, 2007, 08:51:39 AM »
     Hi,

I recently came across a vintage motorcycle, totally unmarked and in a poor state.

The only information that I was able to gather on the model it was the engine serial number,  that started with the letters: BCHG

Could this indicate that it is a BSA, C-15 model?

I will try to get some pictures in order to send you.

     Thanks for your help.

     Carlos

I do not think it would be a C15 as that would normally carry a C15 prefix.

Could the "BCHG" prefix actually be BC11G? (1954-on BSA C11G or C12 model)

C11

  Hello,

Thank you very much for the  information.
This photo looks exactly the model that I've found, maybe the "H" that I've seen is in reality a "11"
Tomorrow I will post some photos of it.
  Best regards,
  Carlos

Here is the photo of the BSA in question, I was able to find that his owner wants to rebuilt it and it doesn't sell it...at least it will have a better future than this one (I was very sad to see a vintage motorcycle used as in the picture) therefore I had the idea of buying it.
The engine numbers were indeed BC11G and not BGHG as I refered.
So it must be a C11 from 1954....I wish her the best  :)
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Carlos
