Triumph Trophy1968/69
« on: March 15, 2008, 11:15:26 PM »
A pal of mine has the above mentioned beast liad up in his garage. Its apparently one of a 250 batch that were produced for the USA market. Details that I have are,  TR65, TR6s possibly,Maroon & silver, upswept pipes & unfortunately he changed the handlebars from its original flat style to raised bars.(With hindsight a bit of a blunder as he no longer has the originals.)     Thus my questions are, What is it worth, where can we source flat bars?  He hasnt run the bike for a few years, but he has religiously oiled the bores & turned the motor to prevent it seizing. Having just read the first two replies, I think I need to see the bike in person & arm myself with as much info as I can, including photos.
Thanks for replies so far >>>>>>>>>>>>>

I believe what TBS is endeavouring to point out, - albeit somewhat cryptically, is that if it is a 68/69 Trophy then it isn't a 1982/83 *TR65* (650 Thunderbird) model?

Yes, please give us more detailed information if you can and hopefully show us some good quality photos?
It can be very difficult to give an accurate estimate of this or any other bike's value, without at least knowing more about its condition?
Unfortunately knowing that the engine turns over doesn't tell us much at all, but a '68 or '69 model year Trophy (if that is indeed what it is?) in a fairly original condition would, I'm sure, attract quite a few buyers?
