WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE???
« on: August 04, 2008, 12:50:03 AM »
Whats the difference between a genuine BSA CB, DB and DBD Gold Star frame and a genuine Rocket Gold Star frame?

Does the RGS have the kink in the bottom down tube to accomadate the oil pump on the single? Are there any other differences?

I do know the difference between a B31/B33 frame and a Gold Star swinging arm frame is that the B31/B33 are identical apart from 2 lugs welded on the rear frame bottom loops to mount the rear set foot rests on the clubman models, and that the frame number is stamped on the top of the down tube by the headstock instead of dead centre at the front of the headstock. A Gold Star frame number starts with CB32.
I myself have a DBD34 engine in a modified (2 lugs) B31 frame.
The bike is in prestine condition in every detail, and i was not prepared to pay an extra £4-5000 for 2 lugs and a CB32 frame number.

Thanks. I just assumed that the Goldie and the RGS were identical, apart from the motor and a few cycle parts.
