Tricky here, in my experiance repair/rebuild generally is better as after market or replacement parts are mostly of a better quaitity than the origanal components. However you also have to way up the cost involved and your situation. I've had 4 bikes and 2 of them were engine jobs. 1 was a rebuild and the other was a replacement engine. Both were good after each repair, however this may have been due to mantainance carried out after the bikes were put back together.  Either way should be good as long as you maintain the bike well after the repair. I am not tell you what to do in your cercomstance. If it was me I would rebuild, but the decission is yours. :)

Tricky here, if no current you mean no spark. Then I would suggest checking power to the coil. If ok also check the engine stop switch on the handle bars. I have known honda stop/engine kill switches to short out on the handle bars causing a no start. Had this happen on my CM250 custom approx 5yrs ago. Hope this helps ;)

G'day, just found this site while looking for information on CM250 Custom Honda's. Great site, great to see so many ozzies on this site. From Redcliffe QLD. Sorry though I'm not old enough to join the Ulysses, only 37, just a pup. Had an XJ650 Yamaha but crashed it approx 7month ago. Now have my mum's CM250 Custom which I'v just coverted from single rego buck to dual so my wife and I can both go riding together again. Tricky Trev ;)
