Pushrods on B44 had different coloured tops one being red to distinguish inlet & exhaust, I think the red-topped one was exhaust pushrod, but I may be wrong (35 years of memory degradation)! |Presumably the C15 pushrods were marked differently too.

c15 pushrods weren't, well at least mine wasnt , I remember on at least two occassions getting them the wrong way round ok I was young and it was my first bike,(a very long time ago) it is easy to do and easy to correct just back of tappet adjusters until the push rods can come out then swap over and readjust valve clearances
