Front brake cable adaptor (lever end) required ?
« on: November 06, 2012, 05:54:50 AM »
Hello , I am searching for an adaptor to shorten the front brake cable slightly ..I have had these in the past , they fit over the lever end of the cable and enter the front brake lever .
They are slotted to slip over the cable and sit between the end of the cable & the front brake lever bracket ..dont know what they are called other than "adaptor" ?

Thanks in advance  ,

Steve ...

I remember these. They came in two diameters for lightweights and proper bikes, we got ours from Romac, long gone probably. You could make one from aluminium with a drill and a saw. A proper scrap yard will have ally rod. Or perhaps microbore copper tube?

Is this the type of device you mean?

Cheers

Amal list them as a 'Cable Stop' for twistgrips - I don't think that I'd fancy one on a brake cable.

Some suppliers list cable stops in two sizes.
