Triumph 5TA / 3TA distributor
« on: February 04, 2017, 04:38:22 PM »

Hi there, I am wondering if anybody can tell me if there is any difference between the Triumph 5TA/3TA distributor on a 1959 model, If any what are they? As in the Triumph parts book it lists different part numbers for each model.

Could the distributors be interchanged between models?

Thanks in advance

I'd guess it would be the weight of the bob-weights and/or the strength of the return springs. Wouldn't matter two wossnames after nearly sixty years though.. ;)

And you'll probably find the springs have stretched and the spindle bearings worn anyway so its original spec is academic.
